Detailed
Rules for Competitions and Open Participation
For all the open
items (dance, singing, instrumental music) on the stage there is a
$5.00 entry fee. All
entrees for competitions are free (no registration fee) In
order for your entry to be valid you have to pay through PayPal or
send registration form with payment to Manju Bhargava. Please click

Mail
the participant form or signup online registration before the
deadline January 15, 2010.
All
guests & Participants should register at the REGISTRATION DESK
upon arrival. Registrants will be given a wrist band to wear. No
body will be allowed in the Auditorium or to participate, if not
registered.
Participants
should be ready at least 30 minutes before the beginning of time
slot.
Due
to large number of responses, we may not be able to accommodate if
participants are not ready/not available for the time slot provided
to them.
TFAS
will be giving
cash prizes for competition winners or participation
trophies to ALL
participants to encourage all varieties of talents of children. So
please sign up early to avoid disappointment.

An
Enrollment
Id
will be given to each participant & it should be written on
CD/Cassette (along with songs/dance name) and it should be given at
the registration desk.

In
the COMPETITIONS if there are more than 5 participants two prizes
will be awarded, for 2-4 participants only one prize will be awarded
and less than 2 participants no prizes will be awarded.
Groups
are given priority over solo participants.
Dances
(Kolatam , Gobbillu etc) & Songs with Sankranthi theme &
telugu themes are given priority Participants
should be children of valid current TFAS members or life members as
of January 23, 2010. To
become a TFAS member, fill the Application
Form
online, print it and bring it to front desk on Jan 23rd Sunday.
TFAS
reserves all the rights for choosing the
Items,
conducting the Competitions and Competition results. No further
inquiries will be entertained.
Rangoli For
Adults and Children
Cannot repeat
last year’s Rangoli design You
can participate by reporting any time between 11 AM – 2 PM.
You will be given 1 Hr time, from the time of reporting.
TFAS
will provide sheet of 11X17 size for drawing Rangoli.
TFAS
also will provide crayons, pencils and erasers. You can also bring
your own pencils/colors.
Time
allowed is 1 hour
Please
do not write your name/age on sheet.
We
have provided Enrollment
Id
for each of participant and that number need to be written on sheet.
Rangolis
will be judged based on creativity, color scheme, neatness &
completeness.
The
winner Rangoli in each category will be published in Telugu Jyothi. Open
to all age (sub juniors thru grade 3 and juniors from grade 4 thru
grade 8
Children cannot
repeat the same act they enacted .
Each
child will be given 2 minutes to perform on the stage.
Each
participant will be judged for their Dress, Presentation and
Performance.
Small
Skits (Each
group 7 Minutes in Telugu only ) All
ages of youngsters
Each group will
be given 7 minutes to perform on the stage.
The
group can be made up of 2 or more kids.
The
participants will be judged on their costumes, dialogues, content
and Presentation.
Age
Group Grades 9 to 12) Topic
–Splitting of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. Will it be a good
or bad decision for India? Give us your views as an American
born Telugu Time for each contestant is 7
minutes Debate speech can be either in
Telugu or English Judging will be based on Judging
is based on knowledge on the topic (AndhraPardesh State Geography,
Economic & social issues resulting the split, gains and losses,
your analysis, comparison with State structure in USA) use of time
for bringing up important points, & presentation skills on
convincing & supporting their points, Manners & body
language etc Spontaneous way to argue and on
condemning other participants arguments is allowed. Telugu

Competition
Should not repeat
last year’s set up. You
can report any time starting 11 AM. Arrangement should be completed
by 2 PM.
Please
choose Dolls/theme relevant to Telugu Culture
Dolls
need to be arranged in 2-3 steps (max), each step can be of 3 feet
length (max) and depth of 1 feet (max).
Or
you can create any exhibit in a 3ftx3ft square area that match India
theme.
Please
bring a sheet to put under & avoid spills
You
can bring small containers of water/live plants but dirt on the
floor is not allowed.
Need
to get your own boxes/sheets/supports needed to create Koluvu or
Park.
You
need to clean up the area thoroughly at the end of the day.
